My past experience as a Construction Controller has been primarily in the home building industry. Since it is well documented of the economic collapse of this industry and the downturn in employment, I was laid off and forced to find work in another type of industry. Luckily, I found employment with a start up company in the construction field specializing in the construction of water filtration plants for farms and vineyards.
There is an interesting trend taking place. Many new postions created as a result of the new economy are going unfilled. The transformation will take time, and as a result companies are struggling to fill needed employment positions.
So what this tells me is although the unemployment rate is high, with the proper training people can find work. This will result in more employment thus making the economic recovery more robust.
